This was cute。 Not as good as I was expecting, but still good。 Cute read cuz the relationship between Zuko and Uncle Iroh is amazing and fantastic and this was really sweet and really showed how much they cared about each other。

Totally cried。 I didn't expect this to be so emotional! This book is basically a collection of Uncle Iroh's letters to Zuko, his reflections on the past and present, and the Gaang。 You learn a lot about his life, but more importantly, about the love he carries for Zuko。 Uncle Iroh is so good, witty and wise, I love him so much。 One of the best parental figures in fiction! Also, let's not forget that he gave us "the prince and the fool" bit。 <3 Totally cried。 I didn't expect this to be so emotional! I was disappointed to find this was tantamount to one of those catchup episodes in shows, there was little new content to enjoy。

My only critique for this book is the absence of Suki。 I realize she didn't play a central role until the final season, however she did aid the team's character development and saved Sokka and Toph。 Momo and Appa had their own sections and references, it hurts my heart that she didn't get one as well。 Other than that, I thought this book was a very touching and welcome addition to the Avatar universe。 I especially loved the inclusion of the letters from Zuko to Iroh。 I may have cried。 My only critique for this book is the absence of Suki。 I realize she didn't play a central role until the final season, however she did aid the team's character development and saved Sokka and Toph。 Momo and Appa had their own sections and references, it hurts my heart that she didn't get one as well。 Other than that, I thought this book was a very touching and welcome addition to the Avatar universe。 I especially loved the inclusion of the letters from Zuko to Iroh。 I may have cried。 。。。more

Less than 4 starsIt had a really great start。 However, the writer did not know how to write Sokka and it ruined the rest of the book for me。

A good bit of insight to Iroh, just like the Legacy book from Aang to Tenzin。 This is a really sweet pouring of the heart from Iroh to Zuko。

And i love it!

Està clar que la finalitat d’este llibre era fer plorar als fans d’Avatar i rememorar la història de Zuko i Iroh。 Pur fanservice。Aporta algo nou a la història? No。 És exactament el que necessitava llegir? Sí。

as a die hard atla fan i loved this。 this is basically iroh sharing his love for zuko with zuko and us through a journal。 they go through the past and future events (lok)。 the last few pages (esp the last page and letter) made me tear up。 the art work was also beautiful。 it was great hearing iroh’s thoughts and perspective on the events of atla and zuko’s journey。

I enjoyed revisiting the Avatar world and Therrien were some new pictures。 But otherwise there wasn’t really anything new to read about。

So much emotion and nostalgia packed in a 64-paged book。This book was so fun to read。 Uncle Iroh's narration is just like what I expected it to be。 Goofy, full of good and bad puns。 Philosophical, as it made you reflect on your life and appreciate the people around you。It is a series of journal entries addressed to Prince Zuko。 Reading it was so nostalgic as Uncle Iroh reminisce some of his memories with the Team Avatar and his travels with Prince Zuko。 He also described and told how each and ev So much emotion and nostalgia packed in a 64-paged book。This book was so fun to read。 Uncle Iroh's narration is just like what I expected it to be。 Goofy, full of good and bad puns。 Philosophical, as it made you reflect on your life and appreciate the people around you。It is a series of journal entries addressed to Prince Zuko。 Reading it was so nostalgic as Uncle Iroh reminisce some of his memories with the Team Avatar and his travels with Prince Zuko。 He also described and told how each and everyone from the Team Avatar, including Appa and Momo, made an impact to Prince Zuko and how they changed him in ways that he didn't realize。 Reading it from his perspective really made me appreciate the individual characterization of them all。Uncle Iroh also mentioned several times how Zuko basically became his son and how he was shaped by him—became the person he is and the type of father he wanted to be。 We all know how much he was affected by the death of his son, Lu Ten, which was also told in this book。Overall, this was both fun and an emotional read。 It feels good to revisit the characters and relive some of their moments through Iroh's POV。 I like how he also provided some short history of the Fire Nation that is crucial information。 At some point, the tone of it became sad because of how much Iroh talked about his deceased son and his stories about the spirit world。 There are also glimpses of the life of Team Avatar when they got older, and when Korra became the Avatar—which was also pleasing to read about。Connect with me!Blog | Instagram | Twitter 。。。more

This book definitely lives up to how tearjerking everyone claims it to be。 There was a lot of introspection for Iroh, which I really loved, along with some really artful dialogue making up his letters。I thought that Toph and Zuko's voices were well done in this too; their letters felt authentic, and I loved hearing different perspectives of their journeys。Now onto the negative。 The thing that bothered me the most was that this author (Joshua Pruett) has absolutely no idea how to write Sokka。 He This book definitely lives up to how tearjerking everyone claims it to be。 There was a lot of introspection for Iroh, which I really loved, along with some really artful dialogue making up his letters。I thought that Toph and Zuko's voices were well done in this too; their letters felt authentic, and I loved hearing different perspectives of their journeys。Now onto the negative。 The thing that bothered me the most was that this author (Joshua Pruett) has absolutely no idea how to write Sokka。 He definitely has a more goofy, comedic side, but the show lets us see that there's so much more to his character than a surface level glance might betray。 There's none of that here, so you can expect the pages/entries from Sokka to sound completely off。 The only other thing I would complain about was that Suki wasn't included in the section about Team Avatar, even though Appa and Momo were。 Kind of disappointing。Overall, I would say that if your main focus in reading is Iroh and his thoughts throughout life, you'll probably enjoy (and cry from) this book。 。。。more

The only fires worth keeping alive are the ones we light for the future"。 。。。more

This review has been hidden because it contains spoilers。 To view it, click here。 Legend of Korra never focused too much on the Fire Nation so I always felt there was something missing。 While this legacy doesn’t disclose everything that happened between The Last Airbender and Korra, it made my heart beat a little faster。 The art we see with older Gaang was exactly what we all need, I think。 Older Zuko and Iroh enjoying tea was the highlight of everything。

The premise is interesting and the artwork is pretty great。 Unfortunately, it suffers from a lack of much needed new information。 While it's pretty heart-warming to be able to read Iroh’s letters for Zuko, a lot of the letters feel more like rehashes of information we already know from the two main series。 This is supposed to be an insight on Iroh’s past and his journey during and after the show, so you'd think we'd get a mention of his wife, for example。 Oddly enough though, there's not one men The premise is interesting and the artwork is pretty great。 Unfortunately, it suffers from a lack of much needed new information。 While it's pretty heart-warming to be able to read Iroh’s letters for Zuko, a lot of the letters feel more like rehashes of information we already know from the two main series。 This is supposed to be an insight on Iroh’s past and his journey during and after the show, so you'd think we'd get a mention of his wife, for example。 Oddly enough though, there's not one mention of Lu Ten's mother。 There's even a page titled "Sozin and Azulon", yet there's barely anything about them; just snippets of things like how there was "no warmth" growing up in their kind of family, something that can be easily deduced from the show。 And as I was halfway throughout the book, some of the text felt a little repetitive and dragged on for me。 It honestly feels like it's because, unlike with the comics, they don't have much input from the creators, so there's really not much new they can put into this。We do get some new information such as details on his journeys to the Spirit World and the Order of the White Lotus, both pre and post AtLA。 There's also little bits and pieces of his life growing up with Ozai。 We also get to see his menu for the Jasmine Dragon--his invention of bubble tea in "The Promise" is apparently called "Appa's Blend"。 All in all, it's a pretty decent book, albeit a little underwhelming。 。。。more
